Alicia Smith L.M.T.
Alicia Smith L.M.T., Owner and Massage Therapist of On Point Massage Therapy has been actively practicing Massage Therapy for 19 years. Alicia graduated Massage Therapy School in 2006 from Apollo College in Spokane, Wa. Alicia deeply desired to work for herself, and that is exactly what she did! During the time she was in school, Alicia took advantage, and practiced all her new techniques on every body willing to receive these new techniques. Once Alicia graduated she felt she had enough knowledge to move forward with her mobile private practice in 2007.
As a young lady, Alicia’s mother would always talk about how strong Alicia’s hands are. Alicia ended up becoming the certified house hold “jar opener” at home. Family, friends, co-workers and teachers alike, would tell you Alicia couldn’t keep her hands off of anyone! Alicia naturally wanted to fix everyone’s aches and pains. It quickly became easy to say, Alicia was the go to girl if your body was experiencing pain, That statement about her reign's true to this day.
Alicia’s entire young life she suffered from chronic migraines. Sadly, Alicia grew up on all different types of western medicine as the sole treatment for chronic pain, with little to zero pain relief. Over years of taking these medications, her body became addicted to the chemicals and started suffering from relapse headaches on days she decided to not take the medications. These relapse headaches were so severe, Alicia would end up in the Emergency Room. This was a regular occurrence for years, until Alicia’s 1st day of Massage School.
One of the teachers Alicia was blessed to have learned from (specialized with chronic pain) introduced her to medical massage and gave Alicia her very first experience with natural pain relief through healing touch. This experience allowed Alicia to go pain free for three full days. As it was, Alicia was in the midst of a three week long migraine. It is easy to say that, that experience sparked a lot of interest in massage therapy for her. Along the journey that Massage Therapy School is, Alicia had a hard time finding the deep passion she wanted to have for Massage Therapy until she learned Russian Medical (Deep Tissue) Massage. This modality sparked a flame in her, therefore instilling that passion for massage she so desperately wanted to find.
During Alicia’s 19 years of practice she has been blessed enough to get to work with all different types of people and share many beautiful memories with thousands of amazing people out there. Her passion for Massage is so great that she ventured out and taught Massage Therapy as well. Alicia taught everything from Massage 101 to Russian Deep Tissue. If you were to ask Alicia, she would tell you that, she is born to give healing touch and sees no end in giving healing touch for the entirety of her life. The Therapist she is may change with time but her purpose is to give and give is what she will do!
